All Scale-ups, operating in Africa and the Middle East are encouraged to apply for the programme. Scale-ups from other regions with established plans to expand into the MEA regions are also encouraged to apply. 

All applicants will undergo two rounds of screening by our programme team. In the first round, each application will be assessed by our jury of five (5) for programme alignment, existing traction, communications’ needs and team. Shortlisted scale-ups will be invited to participate in a series of virtual interviews, and finalists will be notified ahead of the program kickoff. 

Yes, this program will be run primarily in English; however, we can explore providing French & Arabic languages’ support in case your startup may need such help. Please note the interview process will be conducted entirely in English. 

The program will be delivered in a hybrid format and will last for 3 months in total. It will include an onboarding week, 10 training weeks, an investor week, and a Demo Day. Other virtual or in-person events may be organized during the duration of the program such as masterclasses or other regional events. 

Accelerate with Djembe does not provide cash funding for participating ventures but scale-ups successfully completing the program would have access to Djembe’s investor database and supported with investor outreach/relations advisory. Scale-ups will also be supported by Djembe partners operating in the fundraising and investment space. 

The program is completely free of charge for the participating scale-ups and there is NO FEE associated with taking part in the activities throughout the cohort. 

Everything you will be providing through our application portal will be treated as confidential and will only be shared with the parties involved in the selection process. 

Scale-ups are not advised to combine two (2) accelerator programmes – they are however allowed to as long as they commit time to complete the programme.
